Improved SharePoint migration with Metalogix Content Matrix 6.2
Metalogix has released Content Matrix 6.2, featuring a new tool for administrators to allow site and site collection owners, as well as power users, to tag, classify and organize SharePoint content. Metalogix says Content Matrix 6.2 offers an easier way for organizations to keep content organized as they migrate to SharePoint 2013 or Office 365.
Content Matrix 6.2 enables SharePoint administrators to make powerful content organization tools available to selected site and site collection owners through Site Collection Settings. They can demote Site Collections, delete unwanted content, copy information architecture across sites and site collections, move and merge site collections and consolidate site structures, users and other SharePoint elements. New features allow site collection owners to grant users the ability to bulk import, move, copy and apply both content types and metadata tags to their own content directly through the ribbon interface in SharePoint 2010 and 2013, says Metalogix.
Metalogix reports Content Matrix goes beyond basic Microsoft upgrade tools to provide high-fidelity migrations from any previous version of SharePoint or from other content sources such as file shares, websites or Exchange public folders. Further, content organization and user capabilities streamline migration preparation, enhance the SharePoint 2013 user experience and reduce ongoing help desk costs. Effort and errors during a migration are reduced because users can directly tag what content should be migrated, copied or moved to a site or library.
