Spot AI, a leader in AI camera systems, is unveiling a remarkable innovation for AI application in the physical world—Video AI Agents, a platform transforming cameras from passive observers to proactive problem solvers. By infusing cameras with advanced AI technology, Video AI Agents enable cameras to identify, reason, and trigger responses to real-life incidents without requiring human intervention. This announcement is underpinned by Spot AI’s recent equity funding round, having raised $31 million—bringing the company’s total capital raised to $93 million.

The Video AI Agents solution reflects the important role of visual understanding in the physical world. Being able to see physical space, Video AI Agents can detect issues and automate responses that transcend traditional alerting, driving positive business outcomes. Backed by Spot AI’s recent funding, the company’s flagship product emerges onto the proprietary scene with innovation at its core.

"Eighty percent of our understanding of the world happens through eyes. That’s why we’re dedicated to helping our customers turn their video cameras into additional teammates," said Rish Gupta, CEO of Spot AI. "Our AI Agents see your physical space, use advanced AI to reason about what's happening, and take actions in real-time. This funding allows us to push the boundaries of what's possible and bring the power of AI from the screen to the physical spaces where we live and work.”

Video AI Agents are powered by an edge processing approach equipped with 3x more computing power than traditional AI cameras, enabling businesses to derive greater value from their existing video footage—regardless of the vendor—through Spot AI’s open system. Capable of alerting key stakeholders, delivering analytics, activating lights and sounds, playing voice messages, triggering machine starts and stops in the event of injury or an incident, and improving load and unload times, Video AI Agents transform footage into a highly valuable data source, according to Spot AI.

"Spot AI led us from having a video surveillance system to fully leveraging video AI to drive business results,” said Cornel Stewart, an engineer at industrial foam manufacturer Elite Comfort Solutions. “Not only have we seen a reduction in injuries and incidents, but the system's ability to identify potential hazards has allowed us to address issues before they escalate. It's like having an extra set of expert eyes monitoring our facility 24/7."

Spot AI’s Video AI Agents platform integrates with a variety of industry-specific technologies, including sensors, hardware, and operating systems. Key verticals for this platform include manufacturing—for reducing injuries by proactively identifying risk—auto services—for improving revenue by identifying when customer kiosks aren’t staffed—and education—for reducing time-to-resolution for various incidents, increasing time spent on student learning.

“We’re excited to invest in Spot AI as they execute on their mission to transform video signals into a powerful tool for industries around the globe,” said Tushar Gupta, senior director, Qualcomm Ventures at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, a new investor in Spot AI. “Spot AI’s solutions help businesses quickly generate insights from their customers’ video feeds, turning them into a valuable resource that improves safety, security, and day-to-day operations. This closely aligns with Qualcomm’s vision of implementing AI on edge to solve real-world challenges.”
