KMWorld Europe and Taxonomy Boot Camp London Debut to Strong Turnout
The inaugural events of KMWorld Europe and Taxonomy Boot Camp London concluded on 15 April 2026 in London, marking a successful European debut for the KMWorld brand and a return to in-person engagement for the taxonomy community. Drawing approximately 250 delegates from 29 countries across both conferences, the gathering underscored the growing demand for integrated knowledge management and taxonomy strategies in an AI-driven business landscape.
Held 14-15 April 2026 at the America Square Conference Centre in London, the dual conference experience brought together knowledge managers, taxonomists, information architects, content strategists, consultants, and technology leaders for two days of keynotes, case studies, workshops, and networking. The events were designed as a unified experience, with shared sessions and an All-Access Pass enabling attendees to move seamlessly among the four tracks.
Program chairs Dawn Brushammar (KMWorld Europe) and Helen Lippell (Taxonomy Boot Camp London) curated programs that blended strategic insight with hands-on learning, supported by a mix of global speakers and real-world case studies.
KMWorld Europe made its first appearance in the UK as an extension of the long-running U.S. conference, bringing its focus on knowledge sharing strategies, collaboration, content/context discoverability, communities of practice, and organizational effectiveness to a European audience. Sessions explored how leading enterprises are leveraging knowledge to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable business outcomes. AI-driven initiatives formed part, but not all, of the KM discussions.
Running alongside it, Taxonomy Boot Camp London returned to an in-person format for the first time in several years, offering deep dives into taxonomies, ontologies, metadata, semantic layers, and knowledge graphs. Attendees engaged in practical sessions on governance, content organization, and the role of structured data in enabling enterprise search and AI applications.
In addition to formal sessions, the conferences featured networking receptions, a solutions showcase, and preconference workshops, fostering connections among a diverse international audience. The co-located format enabled participants to expand their professional networks while gaining cross-disciplinary perspectives on managing and leveraging organizational knowledge.
The strong inaugural attendance and engagement point to continued momentum for KMWorld Europe and Taxonomy Boot Camp London. As organizations grapple with the challenges of information overload, AI adoption, and digital transformation, the two events provided a timely forum for sharing strategies and building community across the knowledge and information management spectrum.
With a successful launch now complete, organisers signalled their intent to build on this foundation and hold the 2nd annual event in April of 2027. To keep the momentum going, expect virtual “bite-sized” events on both KM and taxonomy topics towards the end of 2026.
