SumTotal Systems has introduced the newest version of ToolBook, its software for quickly authoring interactive learning content. The company says Toolbook 10.5 gives content developers and learning professionals the ability to engage employees with rich learning content through the convenience of increased on-demand and mobile accessibility. The company reports the new version allow easier creation of interactive learning content, quizzes, assessments and software simulations.

SumTotal highlights the following new features:

  • support for Windows Mobile and Apple iPad in addition to the existing support for devices including the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and Google Android;
  • a set of templates sized for optimal viewing on various devices;
  • geolocation support for mobile content, enabling authors to create content that can apply a user's geographical location in learning; and
  • iPhone support for drag and drop, permitting users to easily apply the question types "match item," "drag object" and "slider" in a style that's consistent with the overall user experience on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
