Algolia, the world’s only end-to-end AI Search platform, is announcing the availability of its latest iteration of Crawler, a data ingestion tool redesigned to more rapidly and easily ingest data into Algolia AI Search. Able to scan web pages of any size, the next-gen Crawler streamlines web scraping while minimizing the time it takes to configure and maintain the process of data ingestion.

Algolia’s Crawler solution works in conjunction with Algolia AI Search, quickly populating and updating AI Search by extracting content from owned websites. Serving as a fast, efficient method of implementing search functionality, Crawler eases data ingestion by circumventing the process of building and maintaining a complex indexing pipeline.

“The Algolia Crawler is a great fit for our corporate website,” said Philip Schmitt, software consultant at TNG Technology Consulting, a client of Algolia. “It aggregates distributed content rapidly, and automatically and periodically updates aggregated content without adding any complexity to our codebase. Moreover, it enables accurate and efficient search through records, thus enhancing the search experience for users.”

Crawler is the ideal candidate for use cases involving complex data structures or limitations in being able to send data to Algolia via API clients, according to the vendor. For implementation, Crawler features a guided onboarding process with step-by-step instructions for a fast, easy setup. Crawler also delivers a visual alternative to a traditional code editor—a No-Code Configurator for common settings—to aid in establishing various functions, such as scheduling automatic crawls, inputting login credentials, and more.

“The Algolia next-generation Crawler is available to developers, business users, and enterprise customers, and it will be integrated into the AI Search onboarding process,” said Bharat Guruprakash, chief product officer at Algolia. “This easy-to-use and fast, low-code solution enables data ingestion in minutes and is particularly beneficial for users who wish to build a proof of concept and experiment with it quickly, without initially uploading sensitive data.”

Algolia offers a variety of data connectors—such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and CSV formats—for enriching enterprises’ records and improving search relevance. The next-gen Algolia Crawler will be available for all current Algolia price plans.
