Alfresco Achieves DoD 5015.02 Chapter 3 Certification
Alfresco Software, an enterprise open source provider of process automation, content management, and information governance software, has announced that its Governance Services solution has been certified against the DoD 5015.02 CH3, the Department of Defense (DoD) standard for records management. The company is the first open source vendor to achieve this distinction.
According to Alfresco, meeting the DoD 5015.02 CH3 standard means that customers in the U.S. government can manage all of their content—classified and unclassified—in a single, unified digital business platform that offers content, process, and governance on a modern open stack.
Alfresco Governance Services delivers a scalable repository to manage content and records of any type, including electronic documents, images, emails, videos, and physical records. It can now be officially used for managing classified content and records at the highest level of DoD 5015.02 security certification.
In addition, Alfresco customers outside of the U.S. government also benefit from this standard, since they can take advantage of the granular security features developed for certification and be assured that their systems are built on a platform that is the gold standard for records security. Alfresco has filed a patent application for the unique method implemented for marking security-sensitive content.
