Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. has acquired Document Scanning Systems and Imaging, Inc. (DSSI), which Konica Minolta says will allow it to improve its current document management capabilities and increase its customer base in the west, fueling its ECM business.

Located in Chatsworth, CA, DSSI is a reseller of OnBase by Hyland and Kofax, and a provider of document scanning services and information management solutions for commercial, entertainment, government and healthcare companies. As a single-source provider, it aims to help businesses to manage, control and protect their information by creating efficient document workflow programs.

Konica Minolta has a strong imaging heritage and extensive experience in document and content management. DSSI will fold into the Konica Minolta’s existing ECM operation and will be led by Les Walker, president, Business Intelligence Services, ECM.

The acquisition will serve to support Konica Minolta’s growing ECM practice with a specialty in scanning, and enable to the company to better serve customers who are looking to digitize and manage content to improve both security and cost-effectiveness,  according to Kevin Kern, senior vice president, Business Intelligence Services and Product Planning, Konica Minolta.
