Ephesoft Announces Technology Development Agreement with In-Q-Tel

Ephesoft Inc., which offers the Smart Capture document capture platform, has formed a strategic partnership with In-Q-Tel (IQT), a not-for-profit, strategic investment organization that works to identify, adapt, and deliver innovative technology solutions to support the U.S. Intelligence Community.

Ephesoft Universe is a document analytics platform that utilizes a combination of Hadoop for clustering multiple PCs to act as a single "supercomputer" with Apache Spark, an open source technology that accelerates data processing by loading data from memory. According to the companies, the combination of high-volume and velocity processing, and normalization, discovery, mining, and predictive analytics techniques, enables the Universe platform to quickly and accurately identify information in unstructured formats.

As a result, said George Hoyem, partner, Investments at IQT, Universe’s machine learning techniques may allow the U.S. government to extract data from essentially unsearchable documents more quickly, exposing valuable data from documents and also saving on storage costs.
