Doculabs reports on Scan-Optics ICR accuracy

In-line ICR technology from Scan-Optics (Manchester, CT), when combined with conventional off-line recognition technology, achieves a field read rate of 96.27%, according to a new

Doculabs (Chicago) white paper. Character reject rate of the combined technologies measured in at 2.79%. The results of the study represent "a significant improvement over standard ICR technology," according to Doculabs research analyst Gaddiel Torres. Evaluation of Scan-Optics' ICR technology alone yielded a field read rate accuracy of approximately 90%. The tests were conducted using 3,400 forms completed from a national sample of the general population, resulting in a "real-world test" of ICR technology, said Torres.
