SharePoint encryption

Idera has introduced SharePoint Encrypt, which, in combination with its Enterprise Manager and Audit products, are said to provide a comprehensive solution for SharePoint administration and security management. Idera explains the solution encompasses security rights and permissions management, activity auditing and content encryption to protect SharePoint documents (as well as the underlying SharePoint and Microsoft SQL Server systems) from unwanted access and to ensure regulatory compliance.

Idera says SharePoint Encrypt leverages technology from CipherPoint to provide a complete encryption solution for SharePoint environments. It allows security administrators to specify user access lists that differ from the basic SharePoint permissions setup and keeps files secure from unauthorized users including Windows and SharePoint administrators.
