Foxit PDF Editor 2026.2 offers secure document intelligence with Foxit Workspace

Foxit, a global PDF and document software company, is introducing Foxit PDF Editor 2026.2, the latest version of its flagship editor, further transforming how people understand, create, and share information.

According to the company, the release introduces Foxit Workspace, an AI-powered knowledge hub for multi-document projects, and Local AI, an industry-first capability that processes supported document tasks entirely on the device.

Together with Local AI, bring-your-own-model support, and secure on-device processing, PDF Editor 2026.2 delivers document insights, rich content generation, and multi-model flexibility in one package, Foxit said.

“We’re excited to introduce Foxit Workspace in our 2026.2 release. This release is where you can do more, uniting the productivity of PDF Editor, the security of Local AI, and the power of content creation in Workspace,” said Evan Reiss, SVP marketing, Foxit International. “We’re redesigning the future of PDF and document productivity, making it easier to be more secure and do more with Foxit.”

The 2026.2 release extends the Foxit document ecosystem with Workspace, Foxit’s new document intelligence platform that combines AI-powered document insights, content generation, and workflow integration to improve productivity. Workspace brings collections of documents together to produce insights, files, and new content.

Workspace retains project context across sessions and converts insights into editable outputs, including reports, presentations, diagrams, and webpages.

Foxit Workspace enables people to:

  • Generate cross-document insights. Workspace analyzes project files as a set, not one document at a time.
  • Connect the tools teams already use. Foxit PDF Editor operates as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) host. Workspace connects with tools including Notion, Atlassian, Fireflies, HubSpot, and Figma, so AI acts where work already happens.
  • Choose the right model for the job. Supported models include GPT and Gemini, so teams are not tied to a single provider.
  • Automate document tasks with Skills. Preset and custom Skills complete recurring document tasks in one click.
  • Get trusted answers. Foxit's own parsing engine preserves multi-layout document structure and tables to better understand the content and improve AI outputs for better document intelligence.
