InterSystems introduces API management capabilities in platform update

InterSystems, a provider of information technology software, is introducing a new feature to InterSystems IRIS Data Platform 2019.2 - InterSystems API Manager.

The new tool allows users to monitor and control traffic to and from web-based APIs within their IT infrastructure.

InterSystems API Manager provides ease of use by enabling developers to route all traffic through a centralized gateway and forward requests to the appropriate target nodes.

Developers using InterSystems API Manager will also be able to:

  • Monitor all API traffic in a central location allowing users to identify and solve issues;
  • Control API traffic by throttling throughput, configuring allowable payload sizes, whitelist or blacklist IP addresses, and take endpoints into maintenance mode;
  • Onboard internal and external developers by providing interactive API documentation through a dedicated and customizable developer portal; and
  • Secure APIs in one central place.

Developers are adopting and rolling out new APIs at breakneck speed to meet the demands of digital transformation – and they need an intuitive management solution to enable their success, said Scott Gnau, head of InterSystems Data Platforms.

InterSystems API Manager is easily configured via an intuitive, web-based user interface or via API calls making it an easy tool for remote deployments.

InterSystems API Manager is released as a container allowing for easy adoption. Developers can also configure an InterSystems API Manager cluster consisting of multiple nodes to scale throughput capacity while keeping latency low.
