Portal empowerment

iPhrase and Stellent have signed a deal calling for the integration of iPhrase One Step with the Stellent Content Server and Content Categorizer products. The companies add they will also engage in joint sales and marketing activities to their respective customer bases.

The combined solution is said to optimize customers' investments in content infrastructure to deliver complete, accurate and effective search results to a wide array of self-service systems, including portals and online customer support applications. Stellent and iPhrase claim customers will be able to use the joint solution to reduce costs associated with their customer service operations, increase their revenue, improve employee productivity and improve the level of service they provide to users.

Stellent says its content management system aggregates multiple formats of data and organizes the content intelligently so that users can collaborate, contribute, convert, access and deploy business content. The Stellent Content Categorizer supports the integration of third-party engines to enable the appropriate metadata to be extracted and specific taxonomies and vocabularies to be utilized during the check-in process, the company claims. iPhrase says its One Step self-service search provides the "last mile" of information access by automatically leveraging the organization and aggregation of content.
