OpenText Acquires Hightail

OpenText, a provider of enterprise information management solutions, has acquired Hightail, a cloud service for file sharing and creative collaboration. 

The acquisition of Hightail is in line with OpenText’s commitment to delivering differentiated content solutions in the cloud that enable marketers and creative professionals to share, produce, and securely collaborate on digital content, according to Mark J. Barrenechea, OpenText vice chairman, CEO, and CTO.

Hightail, formerly known as YouSendIt, has approximately 5.5 million customers globally spanning enterprise accounts, paid subscribers, and individual consumers.

Barrenechea noted that Hightail capabilities will be expanded and its Hightail capabilities will be integrated into the OpenText Content Suite, Documentum, Core, and Media Management, allowing OpenText customers to securely collaborate with external trading partners and vendors.
