AvePoint Unveils Compliance Guardian Integration with Office 365 Data Loss Prevention

AvePoint unveiled the latest release of AvePoint Compliance Guardian, which allows organizations to take a risk-based approach to protecting enterprise IT systems, at Microsoft Ignite. Compliance Guardian helps mitigate risk through the data lifecycle by proactively monitoring and neutralizing violations for privacy, security, and compliance.

According to John Hodges, vice president of product strategy at AvePoint, the latest release of AvePoint Compliance Guardian allows organizations to not only take advantage of the Data Loss Prevention features that Microsoft offers within Office 365, but also takes them beyond identifying data leakage so they can remediate an issue and prove they acted upon it with extensive auditing and reporting as well as prevent leaks before they ever occur.

Organizations can ensure information security across Office 365, SharePoint, file shares, and databases with scanning, reporting, and built-in issues resolution. Compliance Guardian provides individualized reports and dashboards, surfacing only relevant issues, and delegating violations to the specific individuals so they can be addressed quickly. The goal, the company says, is to allow organizations to take their information security practices further by discovering and classifying sensitive data, defining and proactively enforcing data governance policies, and accessing comprehensive auditing and reporting features.

The latest release of Compliance Guardian integrates with native Office 365 Data Loss Prevention functionality and APIs to go beyond incident alerts and deliver enterprise-level data centric audit and protection capabilities across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Yammer, including risk-based classification and scoring, incident management for data privacy, and trend reporting for security audits.
