Cornerstone predicts Q2 earnings

Cornerstone Imaging (San Jose, CA, http://www.corimage.com

) predicted its Q2 '97 revenue to range from $21 million to $22.5 million. Cornerstone's display division predicted a decline from 5% in Q2 '96 to 10% in Q2 '97; this year's revenue is expected to range between $18 and $19.5 million. President and CEO, Thomas T. van Overbeek, says: "We believe the disappointing results in the display business are due in large part to slower than anticipated growth in the market for production document imaging systems."

Nevertheless, Cornerstone's software division predicted its revenue to increase 67% to a record $3 million, compared with its Q2 '96 performance of $1.8 million. Note that these figures are estimates and may differ from the actual Q2 '97 results, officially released on July 16, '97.
