StoredIQ and NewsGator partner for social computing governance

StoredIQ and NewsGator have joined forces to bring governance/compliance, e-discovery, storage management and records management to enterprise social computing.

StoredIQ says its platform gives organizations complete visibility and control over unstructured business information by identifying, analyzing and acting on unstructured data across a broad range of data sources, including e-mail, data archives, content and record management systems, including the Microsoft SharePoint collaboration platform with NewsGator’s Social Sites.

The company explains it helps companies understand the full context of all their data within SharePoint and NewsGator Social Sites, regardless of implementation size, and identify potential risks associated with business-critical assets and personal identifiers.

NewsGator and StoredIQ say their combined solution enables efficient handling of e-discovery and records management of corporate data in a global business climate. Further, they add, the technology alliance allows proactive management of enterprise data storage, automatically retaining information according to corporate governance and regulatory mandates while disposing of unnecessary data.
