Cognos acquires Celequest

Cognos has acquired Celequest, which specializes in real-time dashboards and also offers a BI appliance dedicated to stream large quantities of data to these purpose-built dashboards.

Cognos says Celequest is the industry's only dashboarding solution to be offered as an appliance or via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, which allows for fast and low-cost deployment. The dashboards are powered by in-memory streaming technology, which allows users to monitor real-time feeds from transactional systems. With its process or user-triggered alerts, the companies claim, operational managers in industries such as financial services, manufacturing and retail can see the most relevant information when they need it most, making it easier to manage day-to-day business activities relating to risk exposure, operational efficiency or inventory control.
