Frontline Managed Services acquires KL Software Technologies to forward intelligent applications for law firms
Frontline Managed Services, a leading global provider of advisory-led business and IT managed services purpose-built for law firms, is acquiring KL Software Technologies Inc. and its affiliate KLoBot, Inc., collectively known as “KL Software.” Additionally, the company is launching as Frontline Intelligent Applications, a new business designed to help law firms accelerate how they use technology, data, and AI to improve operations and business performance.
The acquisition brings together Frontline’s four decades of experience supporting law firm operations, technology, and business processes with KL Software’s deep expertise in Microsoft Cloud, software engineering, legal applications, and AI.
“Frontline has spent four decades developing a deep understanding of how law firms operate and the technology and data that power their businesses,” said Tim Britt, chief executive officer of frontline managed services. “By combining that knowledge with KL Software’s exceptional software engineering and AI expertise, we have an opportunity to do something much bigger than simply add new technology capabilities. We can help firms use their technology and data more intelligently to accelerate operations, improve performance, and ultimately drive better business results.”
KL Software’s technology and engineering capabilities will form the foundation of Frontline Intelligent Applications, which brings together strategic advisory, professional services, managed services, and connected legal applications. The new business will help law firms design, implement, integrate, manage, and continually improve the technology environments that increasingly underpin their operations, said the company.
The acquisition builds on the strategic partnership between Frontline and KL Software announced earlier this year and brings the companies together under one organization, adding KL Software’s implementation, integration, and engineering expertise to Frontline’s broader advisory and managed services model.
Frontline Intelligent Applications will span four primary areas:
- Strategic Advisory: Microsoft ecosystem design, application and platform strategy, document management strategy, AI readiness, and technology roadmaps.
- Professional Services: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Azure, iManage, NetDocuments, application modernization, AI, and Microsoft Copilot implementation, and integration.
- Managed Application Services: Ongoing management and optimization of Microsoft platforms, document management systems, and connected legal technology environments.
- Connected Legal Applications: KL Software and KLoBot’s proprietary applications, including KLapper, Legal101, netDocShare, and imDocShare, which put firm content, workflows, and AI inside the tools law firms already use.
“Our vision has always been to help law firms create digital workplaces that make technology simpler and more useful for the people who rely on it every day,” said Ragav Jagannathan, founder of KL Software. “Joining Frontline gives our team the opportunity to bring that expertise to more firms while combining innovation and implementation with the broader advisory, operational, and managed services capabilities needed to create lasting value.”
The acquisition advances Frontline’s strategy of bringing together deep legal industry expertise, technology, data, and managed operations to help law firms become more productive, profitable, and resilient, the company said.
