MicroStrategy battles GenAI’s ‘trough of disillusionment’ with latest accessibility-centered update

MicroStrategy Incorporated, a pioneer in AI-powered business intelligence, is debuting the latest iteration of MicroStrategy ONE, the fully cloud-native AI/BI platform for solving some of the world’s toughest data challenges. The newest version centers on the power of generative AI (GenAI) to make enterprise data and insights more readily available to all employees, including the less-technical frontline.

MicroStrategy ONE remediates common data roadblocks plaguing organizations today, from integration complexity to AI hallucinations and lack of trust. This release places a large emphasis on Auto, MicroStrategy’s AI bot, and how it can drive efficiency and improve the quality of work for a variety of personas.

Auto is “a powerful tool that increases productivity and effectiveness and removes barriers to data-driven decision-making because it puts enterprise analytics in the hands of every employee,” explained Saurabh Abhyankar, EVP and chief product officer of MicroStrategy. “It can answer business questions, speed up content correction, accelerate data modeling, streamline support queries, and much more, given how flexible it is.”

By leveraging the power of GPT-4o and a tight integration with the MicroStrategy ONE platform, Auto now offers the following capabilities:

  • Auto for Teams: Users can query Auto from directly within Teams, delivering trusted answers from MicroStrategy without the need for context switching. If multiple Auto bots are available, Auto for Teams will select the most relevant bot for the user’s query.
  • Auto Narratives: To help democratize data understanding, Auto Narratives generates natural language summaries of pages or data visualizations, which can be adjusted based on various filter conditions and tailored in format with color coding functionality.
  • Improved open-ended question-answering: Auto is now more proficient at combining both enterprise knowledge assets and individual user experiences to better comprehend the context of user queries, improving accuracy, relevance, and personalization of responses.
  • Multiple datasets for bots: Auto now enables authors to utilize multiple datasets within a bot without consolidating them into a unified dataset, empowering authors to rapidly create bots with existing datasets and reusable schemas and designs.

These updates to Auto are “all part of our goal to make obtaining reliable, timely data and insights simple and fast for everyone who needs them,” according to Abhyankar. “We work directly with our customers…to make GenAI more powerful and easier to use, which drives real ROI in both speed to decision and better decisions.”

Outside of Auto, the latest version of the MicroStrategy ONE platform serves to streamline data access with the following features:

  • Hyper accessibility: New screen reader compatibility and keyboard-only navigation for HyperIntelligence increases accessibility.
  • MicroStrategy for Office 365: Users can now import dashboards or selected chapters and pages into Excel workbooks or PowerPoint presentations, paired with an auto-refresh capability for content as well as shareable prompts and answers.
  • Python action buttons: Users can create automated workflows in dashboards with insights to drive Python actions in third-party applications such as Salesforce or Workday.
  • Tableau connector: MicroStrategy datasets can be accessed from Tableau, including new features that support OpenID Connect (OICD) authentication and the ability to edit previous dataset object selections.
