Agnes Molnar discusses how to do modern KM in Microsoft 365 at KMWorld Connect 2021
In Microsoft 365, new tools have emerged that make our lives easier: SharePoint Syntex helps to auto-tag and classify documents, while Microsoft Viva auto-extracts topics.
At KMWorld Connect 2021, Agnes Molnar, managing consultant, CEO, Search Explained, discussed what this means for KM activities and what the strengths and benefits are.
“A knowledge management system should connect people through communities and networks,” Molnar said.
Microsoft 365 helps organize documents, it also can store, collect, classify, and more, she explained. The better knowledge management is. The platform can coordinate collaboration on the content that is collected.
“Once we curate that content we need to have a way to harvest it,” Molnar said. “Being able to discern what we know and don’t know is important. Microsoft 365 has a lot of features to support those challenges.”
Because the platform offers a plethora of features a company must figure out which one will benefit them the most, she explained.
SharePoint Syntax can assist with content understanding, content processing, and content compliance. It’s good for auto-tagging and classifying content for using predetermined rules, she noted.
Microsoft VIVA can be split up into four areas. Viva Topics uses AI to reason over your organization’s data and automatically identify, process, and organizae content. Viva Insights gives personalized and actionable insights to gain data-driven visibility into how work patterns affect wellbeing, productivity, and business performance.
Viva Learning allows users to discover, share, and engage with learning integrated into Microsoft Teams. And Viva Connections allows users to easily discover relevant news, conversations, and tasks to stay engaged and informed in the flow of work.
