Xillio Adds Connectors for Dropbox and Box

Xillio, a provider of a content extract, transform, and load (ETL) platform, now supports integration with and migration to cloud storage applications. New connectors for Box and Dropbox enable users to access content from various enterprise content sources via Dropbox or Box through a single point of access.

Organizations have a number of content repositories that users need to access for their daily work, such as Alfresco, OpenText, SharePoint, and Documentum. However,  noted Rikkert Engels, founder and CEO of Xillio, many people also copy documents from these internal repositories to their cloud solutions, such as Dropbox and Box,  creating a “shadow”  environment. The new connectors, he said, enable access to the internal sources through Dropbox and Box, helping organizations stay in control of what happens with their content.

In addition, with the new connectors, various Dropbox and Box functions – such as browsing through Dropbox/Box folders and files; downloading, uploading or removing folders and files, retrieving metadata and viewing user groups – can be carried out within another content repository.

Beyond integration, the connectors also can be used in migration and synchronization processes.
