Metalogix Launches Content.ly

Metalogix, a provider of solutions to move, manage and protect content within enterprise collaboration platforms, has introduced Content.ly, a new SaaS offering to help businesses to control their content across collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Office 365, Slack, Salesforce, Box, Dropbox and Google for Work.

According to the vendor, Content.ly addresses a problem that every large organization faces - a growing number of dispersed collaboration, storage and file synchronization platforms embedded in business processes with no unified way to manage them all.

The goal, the vendor says, is to deliver a single point of control to monitor and manage cloud collaboration platforms,

As business users are increasingly turn to unapproved cloud solutions that don't follow internal or external compliance and governance rules to get work done, the challenge for IT teams is that they are still responsible for managing those platforms, and monitoring and protecting the content they contain.  To address these issues, Metalogix aims to provide a comprehensive set of cloud apps to manage the lifecycle of content stored and shared across these platforms.

Across the average organization, content moves constantly between users, platforms and devices, and does this often without any level of standardization on a single ECM, collaboration, or file sync and share platform, according to Trevor Hellebuyck, CTO of Metalogix. Content.ly, he said is aimed at helping IT organizations to regain control of these platforms and ensure they have the same management, monitoring, and governance over the entire collaboration ecosystem that they have deployed across their on-premise platforms.

This new offering represents a natural extension of Metalogix’s business, since Metalogix provides solutions that manage and protect SharePoint and Office 365 content and now, “these environments sit at the heart of a much more complex collaboration ecosystem,” noted Ben Levitan, Metalogix CEO.
