A2iA Introduces Mobile Bill Pay Capabilities

A2iA, a developer of software for the data capture, document processing, and payment systems markets, has introduced a new mobile bill payment capability that enables mobile consumers and corporate users to take a photo of a remittance coupon to capture remit-to and payer information that can be used to set up new biller profiles within a banking account.

This new client-side feature is available within A2iA Mobility V5.0, A2iA’s software toolkit for offline mobile data recognition and image analysis.

A2iA Mobility enables the automatic capture and recognition of handwritten and printed data from checks, identification cards, passports, receipts and forms. Available for integration into mobile apps, software developers can customize the interface and experience for their specific users.

By combining A2iA Mobility’s Auto-Locate feature with its offline and client-side functionality, the toolkit provides the ability to automatically locate and capture an image from a video stream when it is found in focus. The capability does not require manual keying, and pertinent data is located and extracted directly on the handset – without a data connection or Wi-Fi.

A simple user experience is necessary for any mobile workflow, especially ones that require a user to manually key data, according to Jean-Louis Fages, A2iA president and chairman of the board. The ability to automatically capture an image, and to locate and extract key data on it, allows users to expedite their payment and onboarding processes with a higher degree of accuracy, he noted.

For established markets, as well as countries where the language is not English, A2iA says that A2iA Mobility offers the advantage of a mobile data recognition component - for financial institutions, corporations, merchants and retailers.  Available in multiple country and language versions, A2iA Mobility address the local truncation requirements around the world and the mobile check processing toolkit is able to address check formats and handwriting styles from the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
