Hyland Enters Enterprise File Sync and Share Market

Hyland, creator of OnBase, has launched ShareBase by Hyland, a cloud-based enterprise file sync and share application to enable secure sharing of content inside and outside of an organization. ShareBase enables users to share files while also ensuring information governance.

According to Bill Priemer, president and CEO of Hyland, the new product was launched to help improve the way customers share and collaborate on content, while also ensuring that organizations maintain visibility and control of information. The goal with ShareBase, he said, is to allow organizations to establish a standard for file sharing that meets their own needs as well as the needs of their users.

ShareBase allows organizations to deploy role-based security by using corporate-only email addresses; revoke user rights when users leave the organization to protect against unauthorized access; and transfer content ownership during personnel transitions.

ShareBase uses a purpose-built cloud designed for content management, leveraging data centers located around the world. In addition, OnBase, Hyland’s enterprise information platform, adds the ability to automatically share content with and collect content from users outside the firewall.
