Xillio Forms OEM Agreement with SDL

Xillio, a provider of content migration and integration solutions for large business platforms, has formed an OEM agreement with SDL, a provider of global content management and language translation software and services. As part of this agreement, SDL is integrating Xillio software into its translation technology product line, starting with SDL Managed Translation.

The ability to connect to a large variety of content repositories from within the SDL solution reduces human error and streamlines the translation process, noted Thomas Labarthe, executive vice president of business and corporate development at SDL.

Xillio connectors now allow users access to various content repositories directly from SDL Managed Translation, a cloud-based enterprise translation solution, making documents from the connected repositories readily available in the Managed Translation user interface. Available connectors include Zendesk, Adobe Experience Manager, GitHub, Liferay, and Microsoft SharePoint.

As a result of the new integration, when users translate a document within Managed Translation, they can use Xillio connectors to browse content from the connected content repositories and select a document from there without needing to download the document from the source system, save it locally and upload it into the Managed Translation interface.

In addition, the connectors ensure that the translated document is returned to the right place in the source system. Depending on the structure of the source system, the translated document is either placed in another language tree or the document receives a different name. The original document is never overwritten.
