Microsoft announces improvements to Copilot

Microsoft announced improvements to Copilot at its Ignite 2023 conference in mid-November. On Nov. 1, 2023, Copilot for Microsoft 365 became generally available within the enterprise. Microsoft renamed Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise as Copilot. Microsoft Copilot Studio is a low-code tool to customize Copilot for Microsoft 365 and build standalone copilots.

At Ignite, Microsoft identified three thematic updates to Copilot: greater personalization, advanced mathematical and analysis capabilities, and enhanced collaboration. It also stressed that Copilot can answer questions and create content. Because it is web-grounded, it can access recent information rather than being time-limited.

More information can be found at Microsoft’s Copilot site (www.microsoft.com/en-us/copilot).
