FileHold Introduces Intelligent Text Capture

FileHold Systems Inc., a privately owned, Microsoft Gold-certified, manufacturer of document management software based in British Columbia, has added intelligent text capture document scanning software to help organizations go paperless.

To help with the conversion from paper to electronic form and to automate the capture of key text fields FileHold has added an "out of the box" intelligent text scanning solution from SmartSoft called Capture. Capture document scanning software reduces the manpower effort in scanning and capturing key text fields within documents. According to FileHold, with some operator assistance Capture learns what areas of a page to extract text from, allowing the operator to point and clicks on the text fields for extraction, and often Capture will learn to do it automatically the next time it scans that document. Once documents are converted to electronic form, FileHold software stores and organizes these electronic documents so they are secure, version controlled and searchable. 

Every new deployment of FileHold now ships with SmartSoft Capture document scanning software, which can capture text fields, such as those on invoices, and automatically add them to the FileHold library as metadata associated with that document, said Larry Oliver, president of FileHold software. The software will work with nearly all document scanners that have a TWAIN interface.
