FileCloud Adds GDPR Support Across AWS and Microsoft Azure

FileCloud, provider of a cloud-agnostic enterprise file sharing and sync platform that works on premise or in the cloud, has announced GDPR compliance support across Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.

With GDPR regulations set to be imposed on May 25, 2018, FileCloud's new capabilities allow large organizations with an international presence to choose where to host their data.

By enabling organizations to seamlessly integrate cloud offerings such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure into FileCloud, and adding a secure, collaborative layer, FileCloud says it is addressing the compliance piece of the puzzle that has eluded standardized SaaS solutions.

According to FileCloud, with the introduction of GDPR, enterprises increasingly want to be aware of where their data is stored and processed but many SaaS vendors can’t guarantee where the data that occurs. Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure offer data centers in multiple regions across the globe, and, with FileCloud running on AWS or Azure, enterprises can control and be aware of where the data is stored and processed, aiding in their GDPR compliance efforts.

Global organizations operate across multiple geographic regions and deal with data from EU data subjects. Not complying with GDPR can lead to hefty penalties, up to 4% of a company’s revenue. FileCloud enables organizations to comply with GDPR requirements. In addition to GDPR support, FileCloud provides tools and features to fulfill complex requirements on data ownership/control, manageability, security, monitoring and other regulatory standards that are critical for large enterprises.
