Beacon releases Order Tracking and Collaboration solution for increased visibility of the supply chain

Beacon, the supply chain visibility and workflow automation platform, is releasing its Order Tracking and Collaboration solution, building on the platform's existing shipment tracking capabilities to extend visibility upstream in the supply chain that will allow users to seamlessly manage pre-shipment workflows.

According to the company, cloud-based shared workspaces (Live Boards) simplify the exchange of order information and documents between shippers, suppliers, and forwarders, helping businesses keep orders on track while reducing the risk of administrative delays.

Coordinating the movement of goods relies on smooth information exchange between all actors in the supply chain. However, this exchange is often dependent on individual efforts to stay on top of things and disjointed systems and processes that can delay shipments, prevent on-time delivery and erode customer satisfaction.

Beacon’s Order Tracking and Collaboration solution tackles these challenges by introducing order views on Live Boards—shareable dashboards for managing orders and freight.

These dashboards enable collaboration not only on live shipments but also on purchase orders before transport begins. This streamlines the many interactions between shippers, suppliers, and forwarders needed to prepare and ship orders.

According to the company, with these new capabilities, tasks like agreeing on shipment schedules, exchanging cargo ready dates, sharing documents, and coordinating pickups or drop-offs can all be managed seamlessly in one place, with the information made readily available to all who need it.
