Accellion's kiteworks Secure Content Platform Adds New Microsoft Integration Features

As more enterprise content is generated and stored in the cloud and more employees access that content on different devices, employees need a variety of options when sharing and collaborating on enterprise content. To support these new requirements, Accellion, Inc., a provider of private cloud solutions for secure file sharing and collaboration, has added additional integrations with Microsoft solutions to its kiteworks secure content platform.

The new Microsoft integration capabilities available on kiteworks expand the choices customers have for secure access, editing, and content sharing using Microsoft products and services.

“By providing support for Microsoft products and services within the kiteworks platform, enterprise employees get the best of both worlds – flexibility and security,” said Hormazd Romer, Accellion’s senior director of product marketing. “Our goal is to enable employees to be productive with products they are already familiar with while enabling increased data security and control.”

Accellion’s kiteworks platform now enables enterprise employees to take full advantage of the native Microsoft Office applications on Android devices and allows users to securely open, edit and save files to kiteworks, adding to similar support for iOS that is already available; providesorganizations with a secure private-cloud deployment option for the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, enabling access to all of the features and capabilities of kiteworks, including real-time access to enterprise content stores that allows users to securely view, download, edit, share and upload files from tablets, smartphones, or desktop systems; and permits users running the Windows 10 operating system on a mobile device or PC to securely create, access, and collaborate on enterprise content, enable new workflows, enhance productivity and leverage additional features and capabilities available on the kiteworks secure content platform.

These new capabilities extend the Microsoft integrations already supported by kiteworks, including enterprise and cloud content connectors for enabling secure access to enterprise content wherever it is stored on-premise or in the cloud via a “single pane of glass”:

  • Windows File Shares (CIFS and DFS) – kiteworks Enterprise Content Connector
  • Microsoft SharePoint (2007, 2010, and 2013) – kiteworks Enterprise Content Connector
  • Microsoft SharePoint Online – kiteworks Cloud Content Connector
  • Microsoft OneDrive for Business – kiteworks Cloud Content Connector

In total, Accellion says, with these enhancements the kiteworks platform enables secure access and sharing of enterprise content across a broad array of content sources to increase productivity while ensuring enterprise-grade IT security and compliance.
