Storyblok, the content management system (CMS) category leader, announced that TomTom is using its CMS to streamline content operations—giving teams more control to create and manage content.

Companies such as Uber, Volkswagen Group, and Microsoft use TomTom's map and location technology across different products worldwide.

TomTom’s previous CMSs had a difficult learning curve and made users depend on others for help and updates. The systems also didn’t support modern website frameworks and applications, which restricted the content experiences they could create, according to TomTom.

Migrating to Storyblok enabled TomTom to use a flexible CMS that can take them to any content destination on the map. Everyone on the team can use the Visual Editor and collaborative workflows to easily create and manage content, according to Storyblok.

It only took TomTom three months to get up and running with Storyblok by migrating their newsroom. Since the launch, they experienced a 50% increase in content operations speed and a 30% decrease in content development costs, according to the companies.

“The Visual Editor is what has benefited us the most. We're quicker at building and releasing new components and pages. For example, for some page types, we needed around an hour to create a page before, but now, it takes us ten minutes,” said Danielle van Zuijlen, web operations manager at TomTom.

Based on the success of the switch to Storyblok, TomTom is also planning to migrate thousands of pages in many different languages from other parts of the website.

“An effective CMS enables anyone on the team to move content forward, no matter their technical skills. TomTom is experiencing the time and cost-saving benefits that come from using Storyblok to enable developers and marketers to have full control over their content journeys,” said Dominik Angerer, CEO and co-founder of Storyblok.
