LexisNexis strikes deal with Rosen for e-discovery

LexisNexis Legal & Professional has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Rosen Technology Resources to integrate Rosen’s Polaris and ALCoder software tools into the LexisNexis suite of electronic discovery software products.

Polaris and ALCoder tools will continue to be sold on a standalone basis as well, but both will also be fully integrated within:

  • LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer, which enables litigation teams to quickly capture an entire document set, assess the contents and then eliminate irrelevant documents prior to the more costly e-discovery phases of processing and review;
  • LAW PreDiscovery, software from LexisNexis that offers litigation teams the power to filter and cull non-responsive e-discovery and scanned documents before review; and
  • Concordance Evolution, an enterprise-grade review offering for complete electronic discovery and litigation document management.

Polaris features “near duplicate” technology, which is designed to filter out irrelevant documents from the e-discovery process by flagging documents that are nearly identical. It also provides “e-mail threading” functionality, which identifies, groups and provides a review order of e-mails and attachments—and their entire threads—to allow users to review e-mail threads without having to examine each e-mail separately.

ALCoder is an automated coding application for litigation that is particularly useful for scanned documents. The tool, which is one of the leading auto-coding software tools available in the litigation services market, is used by major government agencies, law firms and corporate legal departments. By auto-coding discovery documents, ALCoder reduces time-intensive manual coding and costs in the e-discovery process.
