Hivemyne acquires assets of Realcom U.S.
Hivemyne has announced it completed a management buyout agreement with Realcom U.S., the developer of AskMe social business software.
Realcom U.S. was formed in 2008 when Japan’s Realcom, which provides business social media and knowledge management products and services, bought the assets of Seattle-based AskMe Corp. Hivemyne was formed by Realcom U.S. executives to pursue the management buyout. Under the terms of the agreement, Hivemyne acquires the AskMe product, patents and customer relationships.
Hivemyne will continue to provide service and support to current Realcom U.S. clients as well as to market and sell AskMe. In addition to traditional perpetual licensing and deployment on enterprise systems, Hivemyne intends to make AskMe available for deployment as a subscription service in the cloud or on a network appliance.
