SaaS solution suits ARC’s technology and budget needs

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has launched a new Web site with enhanced search engine optimization. The regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for Atlanta, Ga., and the surrounding 10-county area, chose iAPPS Content Manager from Bridgeline Software, a developer of software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based Web application management solutions.

ARC wanted a new content management system that would provide powerful search engine features and accommodate an increasing number of content contributors with flexible seat licensing for current and future needs. It also sought a solution with an easy-to-use administrative interface, as well as role- and permission-based workflow.

ARC eventually selected iAPPS Content Manager because it offered those capabilities, as well as such functionality as a forms builder, RSS feeds, blogging tools, and robust document and digital asset management.

Julie Ralston, ARC communications director, says, "The option of the SaaS environment enabled us to stay within our project budget parameters and keeps us from having to worry about product updates and site security. Bridgeline handles all of that."

Bridgeline reports that for ARC, it developed seamless, backend integration with many internal applications including geographic information system (GIS) technology and events calendars.
