Kofax has debuted Kofax Express, which is designed for single user, single scanner and basic batch scanning needs typically required by small- and medium-sized businesses.

The company says Kofax Express has been "built on the Microsoft Office 2007 user experience" and delivers basic scanning and indexing functionality, including real-time image viewing; automatic indexing with barcodes; "key from image" data entry capabilities; JPEG, TIFF and PDF output formats; and flexible release scripts to SharePoint and other repositories. The application also includes Kofax’s VirtualReScan (VRS), which is designed to improve image quality, making even damaged or otherwise difficult-to-view documents readable.
