AV-duty search

BBN Technologies, which develops speech recognition software and Jubilant Technologies, which offers a middleware platform for multimedia management, have joined forces with Verity to launch a audio-video search solution for organizations seeking to better organize, locate and analyze relevant multimedia content. The offering is currently available from Verity.

BBN reports its speech-to-text software, AVOKE STX, transforms audio data into a usable and searchable rich transcription that can be stored and retrieved just as any piece of text in a document. Jubilant's solutions are based on the Jubilant ERM2 Platform, which incorporates and integrates a suite of multimedia systems and technologies in a unified platform, including multimedia encoding, encryption, indexing, analysis, publishing and networking.

The Verity software acts on user queries to seek the most relevant content residing in audio or video, parsing the metadata to retrieve results. Verity classification capabilities allow audio- or video-based content to be organized in a way that reflects how an organization operates.
