LexisNexis closes Seisint deal

LexisNexis announces it has completed the acquisition of Seisint, a provider of information management products and services, for $775 million. LexisNexis is a member of the Reed Elsevier Group. Seisint will become part of the LexisNexis U.S. Risk Management business of the Corporate and Federal Markets division, whose products such as RiskWise, PeopleWise and Banko are used in such fields as legal, financial services, insurance, telecommunications, retail businesses, the federal government and law enforcement agencies. Those products and services are used to authenticate, identity and predict fraud, as well as to control credit and fraud losses, to improve risk assessment and communicate with customers during the customer-management cycle.

In other LexisNexis news, the company reports it has renewed its strategic alliance with Plumtree Software. As part of this alliance, Plumtree Software and LexisNexis will continue to provide the LexisNexis Portal, powered by Plumtree, a product geared toward the legal marketplace.
