Action Technologies and Corticon partner

Action Technologies and Corticon Technologies have formed a strategic alliance that allows Action Technologies to offer its customers the Corticon business rules engine Decision Platform to support its ActionWorks business process management software package. The deal will enable business analysts, rather than programmers, to define a set of general business rules to automate elements of high value customer business transactions without needing to develop new code, says Action Technologies.

Corticon explains that its software creates business rules that can automate decisions that are currently being performed by people, supporting the rapid design and deployment of complex and intelligent business processes while minimizing costly coding and customization. The Decision Platform uses a natural-language, spreadsheet-like interface, enabling users to create rules-based decision services.

ActionWorks and Corticon also support Web Services, which allows process automation regardless of platform.
