Meeting the IM promise

Application management provider for messaging and collaboration applications DYS Analytics has begun shipping Collaboration Control for IBM Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing (formerly known as Sametime).

Developed initially for the IBM Lotus application, DYS claims its new tool is the industry's first comprehensive performance management solution for instant collaboration by providing real-time health and availability monitoring, as well as enterprisewide traffic and usage analysis of instant messaging and e-meeting applications.

Like other products in DYS’ Control family, the collaboration offering allows IT organizations to align these applications and their supporting infrastructure with actual business usage, the compay says. It further reports optimal alignment drives greater efficiency--resulting in substantially reduced infrastructure and administration costs, and improved quality of service.

Collaboration Control monitors performance at the application level and issues alerts when performance thresholds are not met. It further provides a set of analyses and reports on enterprisewide application usage, service levels, capacity utilization, cost allocation, productivity and security.
