Order for the enterprise

Convera and Ixos Software have joined forces to assist enterprise customers in managing large volumes of business documents and e-mail communications. The agreement calls for Ixos to sell Convera’s RetrievalWare search and categorization software as an optional component of the Ixos-eCONserver product.

The companies say the combined solution will add Convera’s search capabilities to enable customers to retrieve e-mail messages, attachments and other business documents from the eCONserver archive for a variety of purposes, including records management, discovery and general knowledge management.

Ixos explains that its eCONserver enables users to manage millions of documents from a wide range of applications, regardless of file format. By integrating RetrievalWare with the eCONserver, it says, users can quickly and accurately locate pertinent information, whether the information is stored in an attachment or in the body of an e-mail message.
