Making it real (time)

As part of its the real-time enterprise initiative, Vignette introduces a new series of Vignette Portal Suites--Group, Business and Enterprise --created to enable organizations to quickly create, manage and deploy enterprise Web applications through an integrated solution. By placing control of portal applications with business users, Vignette Portal Suites can reduce the time and cost associated with launching and managing portals.

Each standards-based suite supports XML, J2EE, .Net and Web Services to leverage existing information and systems, capitalizing on knowledge already in place within an organization. Each suite is also compatible with all the others, allowing organizations to expand to additional functionality with ease in the future. Vignette claims it Portal Suites enable organizations to:

• target and deliver complete information to customers and partners,

• rapidly create or revise portals using a simple, wizard-based configurable portal builder,

• deliver complete information and better access to employees in the context of their jobs and roles,

• reduce ownership costs across the enterprise by deploying and managing all portal capabilities through a unified management console,

• leverage their current and future investment in hardware and software.

Through a newly launched program, Vignette offers current customers the opportunity to be "up and running" with a new Vignette Portal Group Suite implementation within 30 days.
