Ch-ch-ch-ch . . . changes

Serena Software has released ChangeMan ECP 3.2, the latest version of its enterprise change portal, which is designed to automate change to enterprise code and content.

The new offering employs XML services, giving customers immediate access to critical change information in any application and on any platform--extending their ability to manage change from a single point of control, says Serena. The company adds that the XML services capability simplifies integration with third-party reporting, project management and decision support tools.

Serena explains that ChangeMan ECP enables integrated multiplatform application management with "anytime, anywhere access" to information on any enterprise platform. It features an enhanced and customizable Web interface that provides views into Serena ChangeMan ZMF and Serena ChangeMan DS, enabling managers to determine, authorize and better coordinate application changes across the entire organization, says Serena.

ECP 3.2 also provides programmatic linking of change packages, enabling customers to centrally manage software assets across multiple platforms, according to the company. The product is part of the Serena ChangeMan product family, which gives customers a single point of control to manage the development process for complex enterprise applications with components running across multiple platforms from the mainframe to the Web.

The company announced support for XML services in its mainframe and distributed change management products earlier this year.
