PeopleSoft has announced HelpDesk for Human Resources, what it says is the first pure Internet HR service solution to integrate human capital management and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions. The company says the offering will combine HR specialist productivity tools and work force self-service and problem resolution capabilities to enable organizations to resolve employee HR inquiries and issues.

PeopleSoft claims HelpDesk for Human Resources will give HR specialists a 360° view of every employee's case history and HR data, enabling them to quickly manage and resolve all employee HR issues in real time. The solution will connect employees to an HR specialist with the appropriate skills to address their specific request.

Additionally, the company says, HR personnel will be able to access and update a knowledgebase of HR solutions to quickly find answers and automatically pass along knowledge to other specialists. HelpDesk for Human Resources will also include a self-service component that will empower the work force to solve their own problems and enable HR to focus on more strategic initiatives, driving up work force satisfaction and productivity.
