C-mail--read all about it

Intraspect has unveiled C-mail Services as part of its new Intraspect 5.5 product release. C-mail allows users to interact with Intraspect solutions using e-mail, giving them the opportunity to take full advantage of its capabilities and extending Intraspect's collaborative business process capabilities, claims the company. Intraspect says that Version 5.5 also provides architectural enhancements for large scale inter-enterprise deployments.

The company says C-mail enables anywhere, anytime collaboration in secure, shared workspaces to drive business processes. Its features include direct search and retrieval, as well as the ability to access, update and "check in/out" documents--all without leaving e-mail. C-mail Services further includes authentication and authorization features that enable secure e-mail transactions and support all existing e-mail clients without requiring any additional software download. Intraspect reports these new capabilities are offered in addition to the e-mail services already built into its solutions, including the ability to send notifications, contribute documents to personal folders and set up, capture and store discussion threads.

Intraspect says C-mail provides extensive collaboration support for the mobile worker. Using the latest platforms such as RIM Blackberry, Compaq iPaq, Handspring Treo and Sony Clie, remote workers can initiate and stay connected to critical business processes, gain direct access to corporate intellectual property and discover and directly route corporate knowledge assets to customers and partners.
