KnowledgeBase launches Version 2.0

Designed as an enterprise-class solution that’s also geared for small businesses, KnowledgeBase.net 2.0 from KnowledgeBase is claimed to be a complete KM offering that reduces the cost associated with customer self-help and supports organization interaction.

The company reports the new version is backward compatible with prior releases and integrates with legacy CRM systems.

Features include:

  • the ability to convert Adobe PDF files -- in addition to Adobe Acrobat, MicrosoftWord, Excel, Word for Macs, Works and Corel’sWordPerfect, text and rich text files -- into HTML and automatically index, search and display these documents in their original or HTML format;

  • the capacity to upload, download and re-upload documents in their original form; and

  • complete Windows integration based on Microsoft’s .Net initiative.

KnowledgeBase reports its intelligent multiuser system replaces traditional documentation processes and promotes one-time article publishing, making individual articles available via numerous methods. The software also reportedly simplifies and enhances article lifecycle administration, tabulates article ratings and relevance and provides powerful metrics and reporting tools.

Based on adaptive technology, KnowledgeBase.net “learns” with each use by evaluating and re-evaluating the article ratings, key words, search terms, links, click through rates, time spent on each page and other associative actions such as printing or e-mailing. KnowledgeBase.net supports many document formats, including audio and video files.

KnowledgeBase.net 2.0 is available for purchase as a software license, and can be deployed on site at the client location or in a data center. It can also bedelivered as an application service via the Web, whereby pricing is based on the number of knowledgebase articles that have been imported and/or created by a client.
