Dreaming of Genio 4.7

With Genio Suite 4.7, Hummingbird offers a data integration platform for enterprise-scale data exchange and warehousing with expanded support for mainframes.

Genio Suite now provides DBMS and middleware support to Oracle 8.1.7, as well as enhanced mainframe connectivity through the inclusion of an updated version of Detail from Striva. The companies explain that Detail enables Genio Suite to access non-relational data such as VSAM, KSDS and ESDS files. MVS Tape, Adabas V6 and V7, AS/400 logical files and flat files from any platforms are also included. Genio Suite further provides native access to various databases, including IBM DB2 and IBM IMS and features a new datamap wizard that facilitates accessing non-relational data.

Hummingbird says other connectivity enhancements in Genio Suite 4.7 include a new ODBC interface available on Unix platforms. In addition, Genio Met@Data Explorer 4.7, Hummingbird's metadata management solution, can now be used through Hummingbird EIP 4.0.3.
