Joining forces to make government smarter

Combining HI Software’s metadata tagging software with Grapevine’s
collaborative filtering technology, the two firms will work together to provide integrated solutions for both Internet and intranet markets--with a focus toward serving government agencies. Says HI Software’s Robert Yonaitis "Government is quickly realizing that providing efficient access to information is not only extremely beneficial to constituents, it also saves time and money.”

Earlier this year Grapevine and HI Software teamed up to help launch the Washington State Library’s "Find-it!" application, a unique locator service site dedicated to helping people find a variety of local and state government information. The combination of Grapevine and HI Software’s TagGen metadata software allows citizens to find information easily and efficiently and eliminates the need for dozens of people to monitor and maintain the information.

While Washington is the first state to provide such a government information locator service (GILS), all 50 states are currently under a federal mandate to give citizens easier access to government information. In addition to creating joint solutions, Grapevine will distribute special Grapevine editions of TagGen through its direct and key partner channels and HI Software will become a certified Grapevine service provider.
