Adobe Campaign Releases Connector for Hadoop

Adobe Campaign has released a connector for Hadoop, enabling marketers to have direct access to their big data.

According to Adobe, the new integration gives marketers direct access to their big data whereas before, they had to build and maintain costly integrations to get data from Hadoop into marketing tools.

Connecting to external data has been valued by Adobe Campaign valued, and it has had long-time native integrations via federated data access (FDA) technology with traditional database vendors such as SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, and Oracle, noted Matt Rawding, a product marketing manager for Adobe Campaign, in a recent blog post.

FDA in Adobe Campaign allows marketers to leverage their company’s data in place without migrations and transformations, and use that data within campaigns.

Examples of how Adobe Campaign and Hadoop can bring better experiences to customers include the ability for banks to use Hadoop to detect money fraud and send immediate alerts with Adobe Campaign to notify customers; the ability for retailers to leverage detailed transactional and loyalty information stored in Hadoop to build more relevant personalized cross-channel campaigns; and the ability for telco call centers to leverage Adobe Campaign for next best offers based on calling patterns stored in Hadoop.
