Aderant Moves into KM with Acquisition of Handshake Software

Aderant has acquired Handshake Software, Inc., a provider of software products to the legal vertical, including portals, knowledge management, enterprise search, and mobility solutions.

Aderant, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a provider of business management software for law firms and other professional services organizations, and known for its technology solutions for practice and financial management, knowledge management, business intelligence, matter planning, calendaring and docketing.

Handshake Software’s platforms combine an organization’s knowledge into one location to enable intuitive views of important data and analytics. The data then becomes searchable through Handshake’s Universal Search product for the legal market.

According to the companies, the acquisition of Handshake will expand the Aderant suite of products, and in turn, Aderant’s resources will help Handshake build and accelerate product development, as well as expand support and services capabilities.
